5 of the Best Amazon Classroom Must Haves for Teachers

Today I am sharing some of my best Amazon classroom must haves for teachers. If you’re like me, you have Amazon packages arriving pretty frequently to your front door. I always like discovering a new teacher tool or classroom must-have. Each of these would be great to add to your Amazon teacher wish list (you can read about how to set one up here).

Amazon Classroom Must Have #1- Stapleless Stapler

First up is this stapleless stapler. I originally saw this in my suggested items and thought it was a great Amazon teacher find. In my classroom it is much easier to allow my 5th graders to staple their own papers. This staples stapler removed any risk of a staple going through a finger (and yes, this has happened).

This stapleless stapler doesn’t need to be emptied or refilled!

You can see a video of how it works on my Instagram. This classroom Amazon must have requires no staples (so no refilling!) and it does not need to be emptied. I leave it over at my student station so that they can grab it whenever they need to staple pages together before turning in.

Amazon Classroom Must Have #2- Visual Timer

Next up for my favorite Amazon classroom must haves is this visual timer. I keep this up on the board in the front of my classroom where every student can see it (you can watch a video tour of my front whiteboard here).  I love this classroom timer because it gives a visual representation of the amount of time left. You can also choose to turn off the alarm if you want to just keep an eye on it yourself.

Teaching Time Management

One of the things that I work on a lot with my fifth graders is time management. At the beginning of the year I spend a lot of time telling them, ”You have 5 minutes to work on this” or “You have 10 minutes to work on that”. But as the year goes on, I find myself telling them, “You have 20 minutes to work on the task as a whole. It may have multiple steps, so you really need to watch your time”. This classroom tool has been an excellent help in getting my students to be better independent time managers.

Amazon Classroom Must Have #3- Scotch Laminator

And what classroom supply list for teachers would be complete without a laminator. Recently on my Instagram stories I took a poll of what the favorite laminator was among the teaching community. I had tons of responses to this, and by far the most recommended laminator was the Scotch laminator. A close second, and the one that I had before the Scotch laminator, was the Amazonbasics laminator. I bought it for $11 on Amazon Prime Day, and it served me well for about 5 years. Then one day it completely wrinkled a piece of student artwork that I was laminating. No matter how many times I tried to feed it back to the machine or literally iron it, I could not get it flattened. It pretty much ruined that student’s project. Needless to say I quickly purchased a new laminator and has been very happy with this Scotch one.

Amazon Classroom Must Have #4- PowerPoint Presentation Remote

I have seen this next one floating around a few different places, and I dragged my feet on getting it. However now that I have one, I tell every teacher I meet about it mainly because it is only $15. This is a clicker that allows you to change the slides, play and embedded video, and switch between open windows on your computer all from really anywhere in your classroom. It allows you to control the volume and it also has a laser pointer.

Ways to Use the Laser Pointer

I have to say the laser pointer comes in handy very often. Not only do I use it to point out where students can find information on past anchor charts while still teaching at the front of the room, but I also will just shine the laser pointer on their desk to get their attention if I can tell their focus is lacking. I like this because I don’t have to call anyone out. I don’t have to make anyone feel uncomfortable. It’s just a subtle little red light that appears on their paper and reminds them to focus on the task at hand.

Amazon Classroom Must Have #5- Pinhooks and Sticky Hooks

Pin Hooks

Finally, these last two Amazon classroom must haves seem really simple, but I have found that I continue to buy them over and over again for my classroom. The first is these pin hooks.

Pin hooks also work great to hold up classroom decor!

The idea is that it is a hook attached to a push pin. I use these all over my classroom to hang up student references on a bulletin board or I hang things on the wall by my whiteboard. I hang my small group materials in these pouches on the pin hooks.  Here is a short video showing all of the different ways that I use these.

Sticky Hooks

The other hooks that I find myself using often in my classroom are these off brand sticky hooks. I wanted to add Command hooks to the side of every student desk and the price was just too steep. I found these and thought I would give it a try. They hold up so well!

My students store their parts of speech reference cards as well as their wallet for my classroom economy on these hooks all year. They are constantly taking things off and putting things back on, and they have held up for 2 years now.

I also have a classroom organization Amazon list where you can find a list of all of the Amazon classroom must haves from my classroom.
